Nancy has been a part-time front desk staffer with BRAG since 2018. She is the parent of one of BRAG's JOP Optional Gymnasts. She has a B.S. in Accounting and a MBA from Strayer University. When not working at here full-time job or watching her daughter compete, she enjoys going to craft shows and spending time with family and friends.
Michelle has been a Junior Olympic Program Coach with BRAG since 2018. She is the daughter of a gymnastics coach and was an active gymnast from the age of three through high school. She competed up to Level 8 with USAG and earned Second and First Team All State honors while competing with her high school in Connecticut. Prior to coming to BRAG, she coached her high school team for five years and with Chelsea Piers in Connecticut as both a recreational instructor and JOP Coach. She has a B.S. in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement from the University of New Haven, CT. When not working at BRAG she enjoys a day at the beach!
Jeff has been with BRAG since 2018. He started his coaching career in 1996 as an instructor with the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) while in college. During that time, he began working with the earliest all-star program in our area, Capital Cheer! He assisted with the success of that program until he began his own cheerleading gym in 2002, Cheer Dynasty. In a few years, Cheer Dynasty operated in 3 separate facilities and was recognized as one of American Cheerleader Magazines "Top 25" Programs in the Nation. He coached his elite teams to The Cheerleading Worlds and attended The Summit during it's inaugural year and beyond. He worked with his wife to capture a Level 5 Youth Division NCA National title in 2013! After selling his business to spend more time with his growing family, he went on to work with Cheer Tyme and Maryland Twisters. He has extensive experience judging cheerleading competitions of all levels.
He was a scholarship athlete at George Mason University with his team placed top 5 at every UCA College National in Division I during his time there. He enjoys spending time with his wife and their 2 children. He also likes to do home projects and test his HGTV skills.
Margaret has been BRAG's Office Manager since 2016. She spent almost 10 years running her own business before coming to BRAG. She has a BA in Communication from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. Her daughter is training with BRAG's Competitive Tumble and Trampoline team. When Margaret is not spending time with her two daughters, she enjoys playing tennis and golf.
Lori has been an Xcel Team Coach with BRAG since 2018. She started her gymnastics training at the age of three and competed up to Level 8. She also participated in club gymnastics while in college. She has been coaching in Virginia since 2001 as a recreational instructor and Xcel/JOP coach. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Virginia. When not working at BRAG she enjoys camping and spending time with her family.

Competitive Team Coaches
Tracie has been working at BRAG as a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor since 2019. She started gymnastics at age 9 and worked her way up to JOP Level 7. As a Level 5, she placed 2nd on the Uneven Bars at the VA State Championships. For over two years, she worked with the Warren County Parks and Recreation gymnastics program before coming to BRAG. She received an Associates Degree in Communications from Lord Fairfax Community College. Her personal interests include integrated physical arts, holistic health, and wellness.
Coach Mary E.:
Mary started working as a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor at BRAG in 2020. Growing up in northern Virginia, she competed up to JOP Level 5 in the local area. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from George Mason University. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, yoga, and readying. One of her favorite memories is traveling cross country in an RV for six months with her husband and daughter.
Halsey is a JOP Team Coach. She has been a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor and JOP Team Coach at BRAG since 2018. Prior to coming to BRAG, she was a recreational instructor at two local clubs from 2016-2018. Halsey was a competitive gymnast up to Junior Olympic Program Level 10. While living in New Mexico, she was a Level 4 and 6 State Champion. While living in VIrginia, she was a Level 9 Regional champion and placed 3rd All Around and on the Balance Beam at the Eastern Nationals. She is a graduate of Brentsville High School and is currently attending Northern Virginia Community College where she is working on an A.A. in Occupational Therapy or Respiratory Therapy. During her free time, she volunteers at the hospital.
Developmental and Recreational Instructors
Coach Sophia has been working as a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor at BRAG since 2018. She grew up in a military family which lead to her to competing in gymnastics up to USAG JOP Level 8 in such far reaching locations as Sydney, Australia and Anchorage, Alaska. While in Anchorage she placed 1st All Around for her age group at USAG Level 6. She had been coaching at another club in the local area for about six months prior to coming to BRAG. She is a graduate of Woodbridge High School and is currently attending cosmetology school when she is not working at BRAG.
Mary is a former optional level gymnast, power tumbler, and cheerleader who competed at the national level in power tumbling and cheerleading. She is the daughter of two YMCA directors and has several years experience participating in numerous athletic programs. She began coaching while in college and held her first program director position immediately after graduating from the University of Kentucky. She is a USAG certified National Coach and former Junior Olympic Program Level 10 judge. She has produced numerous state champions and collegiate gymnasts while coaching in California, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. She is an avid fan of University of Kentucky basketball and the Kentucky Derby.
Allie started working as a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor at BRAG in 2019. She started gymnastics at the age of 7 and worked her way up the Xcel Silver level as a competitive gymnast. She placed 1st at several competitions and 2nd on the Floor Exercise at States. She is a graduate of Kettle Run High School where she was a member of their Lacrosse and Field Hockey Teams. She is currently attending Lord Fairfax Community College where she is pursuing an Associates Degree in General Arts and Sciences. During her free time, Allie enjoys spending time with friends and crafting.
Ashley has been a part-time front desk staffer with BRAG since the summer of 2018. She is the parent of one of our Xcel gymnasts. She was born and raised in northern Virginia. She is first aid and CPR certified with 10 years of experience with Prince William County Fire and Rescue. She loves going to baseball games with her kids during her free time.
Quianna has been BRAG's Head Xcel Team Coach since 2017. She started training in gymnastics at the age of 7 and competed up to Optional Level 8 in New York. While in high school, she competed on her school's gymnastics team and also coached at her home gym, Elite Gymnastics. She continued to coach gymnastics part-time at another gym while attending college and returned to coach full time at Elite Gymnastics after receiving her degree. In 2012, she started a gymnastics program for a Boys and Girls Club and in 2013 she became the Director of the USAIGC program at Elite Gymnastics. She is a graduate of the State University of New York at Old Westbury where she received a BA in Public Health. She loves spending time with her daughter and niece, taking them to dance classes, swimming, girl scouts, and of course gymnastics.
Brooke started working as a Recreation Gymnastics Instructor at BRAG in 2019. She competed as an Xcel gymnast up to the Gold level with BRAG. She attends Kettle Run High School where she is a member of the school's Track and Field team and has qualified for States twice as a Pole Vaulter. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching NETFlix, and baking. She's also had the opportunity to travel outside the United States on several occasions to include the countries of Iceland, Germany, Croatia, and more.
Tad joined BRAG as a Junior Olympic Program Optional Team Coach in 2019. He started coaching in 2011 at Gym Dandys in Washington, PA where his sisters were JOP Optional level gymnasts. He has held a USAG Professional membership since 2014 and coached up to JOP Level 10 gymnasts at Gym Dandys. In college, he played soccer and was a record holding pole vaulter for his school's track and field team. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Washington and Jefferson College. When not working at BRAG, Tad enjoys relaxing with his dog or doing human flags wherever he can find a good location.
Nicholas has been a Recreational Gymnastics and Tumbling Instructor at BRAG since 2018. He was a competitive gymnast up to Junior Olympic Program Level 9. While living in New Mexico, he was a Junior Olympic Program Level 5 and 6 gymnast. While living in VIrginia, he competed at Levels 6-9. He is currently attending Brentsville High School. During his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and playing with his dogs.
Melanie has been a Junior Olympic Program Optional Coach with BRAG since 2020. She started coaching recreational classes when she was 16 years old and worked her way up to coaching Optional Level 9 gymnasts. She has taken several of her Optional gymnasts to regionals over the years. Prior to coming to BRAG, she also worked as a Recreational Program Director. Growing up in Virginia, she competed up to Optional Level 9 as an artistic gymnast. She has a B.S. in Child Development from Virginia Tech. When not working at BRAG she enjoys running and recently started touching upon her artistic side with calligraphy.
Mallorie is BRAG's Recreational Program Director and Head Compulsory Team Coach. She has been with BRAG since 2014. A gymnast since the age of 5, she participated in gymnastics for 9 years and competed up to Optional Level 9 in Virginia. She started coaching with the opening of BRAG, coaching everything from Parent and Tot to now leading BRAG's Compulsory Gymnastics teams. She received her Health and Fitness Certification from NOVA. When not working at BRAG, she enjoys spending time with her family.
She has been working as a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor and Xcel Team Coach at BRAG since 2018. She grew up in a military family which lead her to competing in gymnastics up to USAG JOP Level 6 in Tennessee. As a Level 6, she placed 1st All Around on several occasions and 3rd her age group on the Balance Beam at the Tennessee State Meet. Lauren also started to participate in competitive cheer when she moved to Virginia, ultimately working her way up to her club's Level 5 team. She had coached at another gymnastics facility in the local area for about six months prior to coming to BRAG. She is a graduate of Battlefield High School and has an Associates degree in Massage Therapy from Northern Virginia Community College. When she is not working at BRAG, she enjoys painting, travel, and several outdoor activities.
Kristen has been a Developmental and Recreational Gymnastics Coach with BRAG since 2016. A gymnast since the age of 3, Kristen was trained by 1996 Olympic U.S. women's gold medal gymnastics team member, Jaycee Phelps, for two years. Kristen competed for several years as a Compulsory and Optional gymnast. At Level 9, she placed 1st All Around at the Colorado State Championships and qualified for the Region 3 Championships and Western Nationals.
Donna has been a part-time front desk staffer with BRAG since the summer of 2018. She studied dance for 18 years to include ballet, jazz, and ballroom. She has a B.S. in Nutrition from Virginia Tech and a M.A. in Human Resources Management from Marymount University. One of her daughters is a competitive gymnast with BRAG. She and her family foster dogs for local rescue groups. They also enjoy fishing, hiking, and road trips during their free time.
Drew is BRAG's Business Manager. He gained his entrepreneur experience as a small business owner in Missouri at the Lake of the Ozarks. After which, he served in the US Army for 23 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. During Drew and Mary’s numerous assignments across the United States and other countries, he grew to appreciate Mary’s passion for gymnastics. Drawing from their experiences at the different gyms Mary worked, together they created the business model under which Bull Run Academy of Gymnastics operates. He has a BS in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Missouri – Columbia and a MS in Defense Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He is a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the University of Missouri football and basketball programs.
Emma started working as a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor at BRAG in 2019. Being one of BRAG's first JOP competitive gymnasts, she worked her way up to JOP Level 7. She is also a member of the Battlefield High School Gymnastics Team. In her freetime, she enjoys painting and spending time with her friends and family.
Solange has been coaching recreational gymnastics at BRAG since the summer of 2017. A gymnast since the age of 8, she competed in Virginia in the Xcel program up to the Diamond level where she placed on numerous occasions. During her free-time, she enjoys anime and regularly cosplays at conventions. She can speak four languages: English, French, Spanish, and Portugeuse.
