Amy is a part-time BRAG front desk staffer. She is the parent of two of BRAG's optional gymnasts. She received a BA in Communications from Seton Hall University. She was member of the university's cheer squad for three years and was a sideline cheerleader for the basketball team during the NCAA tournament.
Wayne has been BRAG's Competitive Gymnastics Program Director, Power Tumbling Program Director, and Head Optional Team Coach since 2016. He has almost four decades of experience as a competitive athlete in the U.S. and as a coach in both the U.S. and internationally. An USAG certified National Coach, Wayne has coached at clubs in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Texas, and Virginia. Also, he was an Assistant Women's Gymnastics Coach at Penn State University. Internationally, he coached at clubs in Canada, New Zealand, and Singapore. He was an Artistic Gymnastics National Team Coach in New Zealand and Singapore and Head National Team Coach for Power Tumbling in New Zealand. Wayne enjoys playing golf when not working at BRAG.
Katie has been a Junior Olympic Program Team Coach with BRAG since 2018. A gymnast for over 10 years, she competed up to Optional Level 8 in Virginia. She has been coaching in Northern Virginia since 2011, working with both Xcel and Junior Olympic Program gymnasts. When not working at BRAG, she enjoys spending time with her family and relaxing at the beach.
Rachel is a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor. A gymnast since the age of 3, she worked her way up to Optional Level 7. At Level 6, she was a Virginia state champion on Uneven Bars. At Level 7, she placed 4th All-Around at the Virginia State Championships. She is currently a member of BRAG's Competitive Power Tumbling Team and placed 2nd at Regionals in 2017. She is on her school high school's competitive cheer squad and was awarded the MVP honor in 2017. During her free time she enjoys hiking and shopping with her friends.
Drew is BRAG's Business Manager. He gained his entrepreneur experience as a small business owner in Missouri at the Lake of the Ozarks. After which, he served in the US Army for 23 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. During Drew and Mary’s numerous assignments across the United States and other countries, he grew to appreciate Mary’s passion for gymnastics. Drawing from their experiences at the different gyms Mary worked, together they created the business model under which Bull Run Academy of Gymnastics operates. He has a BS in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Missouri – Columbia and a MS in Defense Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He is a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the University of Missouri football and basketball programs.

Competitive Team Coaches
Lauren has been working as a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor at BRAG since 2017. Prior to working at BRAG she participated in club gymnastics for 12 years to include five years in the Junior Olympic Program competing up to Level 7 and two years in Xcel at the Diamond/Platinum levels. Also, she was a member of the Battlefield High School Gymnastics Team for three years. When not at school or working at BRAG, she enjoys playing with her Bulldogs and spending with family/friends.
Erika has been a Recreational Gymnastics, Competitive Cheer, and Xcel Coach with BRAG since 2017. A gymnast since the age of 5, she participated in gymnastics in several states up to USAG Level 7 as the child of a military family. She competed for four years with Battlefield High School, where the team went to states each year. She was a sideline cheerleader through high school and college. A graduate of James Madison University, her cheer squad competed nationally twice in the Small Coed 1A Division, placing in the top four each time. She was an instructor during several JMU cheer clinics. She has a B.A. in Communications with a Minor in Spanish. She enjoys traveling during her free time.
Developmental and Recreational Instructors
Kat has been working as a recreational gymnastics and cheer instructor at BRAG since 2017. She was a cheerleader in high school and for a year and a half at Cabrini University. Prior to starting at BRAG she coached gymnastics and tumbling in Pennsylvania. She is currently working on a BFA in Graphic Design at George Mason University. When not working at BRAG, she supports a local theater as an artist and graphic designer. When not studying or working, she enjoys scary movies and eating tacos!
Mary is a former optional level gymnast, power tumbler, and cheerleader who competed at the national level in power tumbling and cheerleading. She is the daughter of two YMCA directors and has several years experience participating in numerous athletic programs. She began coaching while in college and held her first program director position immediately after graduating from the University of Kentucky. She is a USAG certified National Coach and former Junior Olympic Program Level 10 judge. She has produced numerous state champions and collegiate gymnasts while coaching in California, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. She is an avid fan of University of Kentucky basketball and the Kentucky Derby.

Theresa has been a Competitive Cheer Coach at BRAG since 2018.
Brenna has been working as a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor at BRAG since 2017. She was a competitive dancer for five years before starting at BRAG. As a dancer, she and her team won several Regional competitions and Nationals in 2016. She worked as an instructor at her dance studio prior to working at BRAG. She has been a member of the Battlefield High School Dance Team for three years. She is also a member of the Battlefield High School Choir.
Jesse is a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor and Xcel Coach. She has been with BRAG since 2017. She is a former recreational gymnast and participated in numerous other sports activities before and during college. Before coming to BRAG, she had experience coaching/training swimming, volleyball, lacrosse, and equestrian activities. She is a graduate of James Madison University where she received a B.S. in Health Sciences with an emphasis in Sports Medicine and Exercise Science. In her free time, she enjoys running, watersports, and horseback riding.
Margaret has been BRAG's Office Manager since 2016. She spent several years running her own business before coming to BRAG. She has a BA in Communication from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. When not spending time with her family, she enjoys visiting Virginia wineries and playing tennis and golf.
Kristen is a Developmental and Recreational Gymnastics Coach. A gymnast since the age of 3, Kristen was trained by 1996 Olympic U.S. women's gold medal gymnastics team member, Jaycee Phelps, for two years. Kristen competed for several years as a Compulsory and Optional gymnast. At Level 9, she placed 1st All Around at the Colorado State Championships and qualified for the Region 3 Championships and Western Nationals.
Michelle has been a Junior Olympic Program Coach with BRAG since 2018. She is the daughter of a gymnastics coach and was an active gymnast from the age of three through high school. She competed up to Level 8 with USAG and earned Second and First Team All State honors while competing with her high school in Connecticut. Prior to coming to BRAG, she coached her high school team for five years and with Chelsea Piers in Connecticut as both a recreational instructor and JOP Coach. She has a B.S. in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement from the University of New Haven, CT. When not working at BRAG she enjoys a day at the beach!
Hannah is a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor. She is a former competitive gymnast who qualified up to optional Level 8. She is a member of her high school gymnastics team and varsity cheer squad. Both of which have been State and/or Regional qualifiers during her tenure. She enjoys spending time outdoors and with her family.
Aquiera has been an Xcel Team Coach with BRAG since 2018. She started participating in gymnastics at age nine. In high school, she was twice selected as her team's MVP. While in high school she started coaching at a local club in New York state and for the past ten years she has coached recreational gymnastics, pre-team, and JOP Levels 4-8. She attended Nassau Community College in Garden City, New York. When not working at BRAG she enjoys music, singing, and dancing.
Lori has been an Xcel Team Coach with BRAG since 2018. She started her gymnastics training at the age of three and competed up to Level 8. She also participated in club gymnastics while in college. She has been coaching in Virginia since 2001 as a recreational instructor and Xcel/JOP coach. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Virginia. When not working at BRAG she enjoys camping and spending time with her family.
Boryana has been a Compulsory Team Coach with BRAG since 2016. She has over 25 years experience as an international competitive gymnast and coach. She was a member of the Bulgarian National Women's Gymnastics Team from 1981 to 1988. She was the 1983 World Champion on the vault and represented Bulgaria at the 1984 Friendship Games (Oloumouc) and the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. She was also a member of the 1985 and 1987 teams that competed at the World Championships. From 1986 to 2013, she worked as a school teacher and coach in Sofia, Bulgaria. She has a Bachelor's degree from the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism and an MS in Physical Culture and Education from Georgi Dimitrov Higher Institute of Sports.
Coach Leigh Anne:
Leigh Anne has been BRAG's Cheer Program Director since 2017. She is a former school and club competitive cheerleader with her club team placing at several UCA and NCA Regional competitions. She is a graduate of Christopher Newport University where she was a member of the co-ed cheerleading squad. After graduating from CNU, she began coaching recreational cheer and competitive cheerleading. She went on to head a competitive cheerleading program working with Junior Level 2 and Senior Level 4 teams. Her teams had numerous top 3 finishes and won the "National Championship" title at a JamFest competition. When not working at BRAG, Leigh Anne teaches special needs children in a local public school system.
Quianna has been BRAG's Head Xcel Team Coach since 2017. She started training in gymnastics at the age of 7 and competed up to Optional Level 8 in New York. While in high school, she competed on her school's gymnastics team and also coached at her home gym, Elite Gymnastics. She continued to coach gymnastics part-time at another gym while attending college and returned to coach full time at Elite Gymnastics after receiving her degree. In 2012, she started a gymnastics program for a Boys and Girls Club and in 2013 she became the Director of the USAIGC program at Elite Gymnastics. She is a graduate of the State University of New York at Old Westbury where she received a BA in Public Health. She loves spending time with her daughter and niece, taking them to dance classes, swimming, girl scouts, and of course gymnastics.
Mallorie is BRAG's Recreational Program Director and Head Compulsory Team Coach. She has been with BRAG since 2014. A gymnast since the age of 5, she participated in gymnastics for 9 years and competed up to Optional Level 9 in Virginia. She started coaching with the opening of BRAG, coaching everything from Parent and Tot to now leading BRAG's Compulsory Gymnastics teams. She received her Health and Fitness Certification from NOVA. When not working at BRAG, she enjoys spending time with her family.
