Coach Aquiera:

Aquiera has been an Xcel Team Coach with BRAG since 2018.  She started participating in gymnastics at age nine.  In high school, she was twice selected as her team's MVP.  While in high school she started coaching at a local club in New York state and for the past ten years she has coached recreational gymnastics, pre-team, and JOP Levels 4-8.  She attended Nassau Community College in Garden City, New York.  When not working at BRAG she enjoys music, singing, and dancing.

Competitive Team Coaches 

Coach Kristen:

Kristen has been a Developmental and Recreational Gymnastics Coach with BRAG since 2016.  A gymnast since the age of 3, Kristen was trained by 1996 Olympic U.S. women's gold medal gymnastics team member, Jaycee Phelps, for two years.  Kristen competed for several years as a Compulsory and Optional gymnast.  At Level 9, she placed 1st All Around at the Colorado State Championships and qualified for the Region 3 Championships and Western Nationals.

Donna:

Donna has been a part-time front desk staffer with BRAG since the summer of 2018.  She studied dance for 18 years to include ballet, jazz, and ballroom.  She has a B.S. in Nutrition from Virginia Tech and a M.A. in Human Resources Management from Marymount University.  One of her daughters is a competitive gymnast with BRAG.  She and her family foster dogs for local rescue groups.  They also enjoy fishing, hiking, and road trips during their free time.  

Coach Theresa:

Theresa has been a Competitive Cheer Coach at BRAG since 2018.

Coach Brenna:

Brenna has been working as a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor at BRAG since 2017.  She was a competitive dancer for five years before starting at BRAG.  As a dancer, she and her team won several Regional competitions and Nationals in 2016.  She worked as an instructor at her dance studio prior to working at BRAG.  She has been a member of the Battlefield High School Dance Team for three years.  She is also a member of the Battlefield High School Choir.    

Amy:

Amy is a part-time BRAG front desk staffer.  She is the parent of two of BRAG's Optional gymnasts.  She received a BA in Communications from Seton Hall University.  She was member of the university's cheer squad for three years and was a sideline cheerleader for the basketball team during the NCAA tournament.

Coach Kat:

Kat has been working as a recreational gymnastics and cheer instructor at BRAG since 2017.  She was a cheerleader in high school and for a year and a half at Cabrini University.  Prior to starting at BRAG she coached gymnastics and tumbling in Pennsylvania.  She is currently working on a BFA in Graphic Design at George Mason University.  When not working at BRAG, she supports a local theater as an artist and graphic designer.  When not studying or working, she enjoys scary movies and eating tacos! 

Coach Nicholas:

Nicholas has been a Recreational Gymnastics and Tumbling Instructor at BRAG since 2018.  He was a competitive gymnast up to Junior Olympic Program Level 9.  While living in New Mexico, he was a Junior Olympic Program Level 5 and 6 gymnast.  While living in VIrginia, he competed at Levels 6-9.  He is currently attending Brentsville High School.  During his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and playing with his dogs. 

Coach Lori:

Lori has been an Xcel Team Coach with BRAG since 2018.  She started her gymnastics training at the age of three and competed up to Level 8.  She also participated in club gymnastics while in college.  She has been coaching in Virginia since 2001 as a recreational instructor and Xcel/JOP coach.  She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Virginia.  When not working at BRAG she enjoys camping and spending time with her family. 

Coach Campbell:

Campbell has been working as a Recreational Tumbling and Gymnastics Instructor at BRAG since 2018.  She competed in the North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA) circuit in extreme forms (a combination of traditional martial arts and tumbling).  In 2015 and 2016 she was ranked 9th and 8th in the world, respectively.  Currently a student at Battlefield High School, she intends to continue her studies to become a Physician Assistant.  When she is not busy with work or school, she enjoys working out, readying, watching NETFLIX, painting, and spending time with her family.

Nancy:

Nancy has been a part-time front desk staffer with BRAG since 2018.  She is the parent of one of BRAG's JOP Optional Gymnasts.  She has a B.S. in Accounting and a MBA from Strayer University.  When not working at here full-time job or watching her , she enjoys going to craft shows and spending time with family and friends.

Administrative Staff

Coach Jesse:

Jesse is a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor and Xcel Coach.  She has been with BRAG since 2017.  She is a former recreational gymnast and participated in numerous other sports activities before and during college.  Before coming to BRAG, she had experience coaching/training swimming, volleyball, lacrosse, and equestrian activities.  She is a graduate of James Madison University where she received a B.S. in Health Sciences with an emphasis in Sports Medicine and Exercise Science.  In her free time, she enjoys running, watersports, and horseback riding.

Coach Erika:

Erika has been a Recreational Gymnastics, Competitive Cheer, and Xcel Coach with BRAG since 2017.  A gymnast since the age of 5, she participated in gymnastics in several states up to USAG Level 7 as the child of a military family.  She competed for four years with Battlefield High School, where the team went to states each year.  She was a sideline cheerleader through high school and college.  A graduate of James Madison University, her cheer squad competed nationally twice in the Small Coed 1A Division, placing in the top four each time.  She was an instructor during several JMU cheer clinics.  She has a B.A. in Communications with a Minor in Spanish.  She enjoys traveling during her free time.

Drew:

Drew is BRAG's Business Manager.  He gained his entrepreneur experience as a small business owner in Missouri at the Lake of the Ozarks.  After which, he served in the US Army for 23 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.  During Drew and Mary’s numerous assignments across the United States and other countries, he grew to appreciate Mary’s passion for gymnastics.  Drawing from their experiences at the different gyms Mary worked, together they created the business model under which Bull Run Academy of Gymnastics operates.  He has a BS in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Missouri – Columbia and a MS in Defense Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He is a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the University of Missouri football and basketball programs.


Coach Solange:

Solange has been coaching recreational gymnastics at BRAG since the summer of 2017.  A gymnast since the age of 8, she competed in Virginia in the Xcel program up to the Diamond level where she placed on numerous occasions.  During her free-time, she enjoys anime and regularly cosplays at conventions.  She can speak four languages: English, French, Spanish, and Portugeuse.

Coach Boryana:

Boryana has been a Compulsory Team Coach with BRAG since 2016.  She has over 25 years experience as an international competitive gymnast and coach.  She was a member of the Bulgarian National Women's Gymnastics Team from 1981 to 1988.  She was the 1983 World Champion on the vault and represented Bulgaria at the 1984 Friendship Games (Oloumouc) and the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. She was also a member of the 1985 and 1987 teams that competed at the World Championships.  From 1986 to 2013, she worked as a school teacher and coach in Sofia, Bulgaria.  She has a Bachelor's degree from the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism and an MS in Physical Culture and Education from Georgi Dimitrov Higher Institute of Sports.  

Ashley:

Ashley has been a part-time front desk staffer with BRAG since the summer of 2018.  She is the parent of one of our Xcel gymnasts.  She was born and raised in northern Virginia.  She is first aid and CPR certified with 10 years of experience with Prince William County Fire and Rescue.  She loves going to baseball games with her kids during her free time.   

Coach Bridgette:

Bridgette has been working with BRAG's competitive program since 2015.  She was a competitive gymnast up to Junior Olympic Program Level 10 in Virginia.  She was a two time Eastern National qualifier at Level 9 and Regional qualifier at Level 10.  She was recruited by College of Brockport in New York where she received Second Team All American honors on on the Floor event and also received a B.A. in English/Communications.  During her free time, she enjoys taking her dog to the park and drinking fine wines. 

Developmental and Recreational Instructors

Coach Valencia:

Valencia has been working as a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor at BRAG since 2018.  Prior to coming to BRAG, she was a recreational gymnastics instructor in 2015 and 2016 at other gymnastics facilities in Northern Virginia.  As an athlete, Valencia competed up to JOP Level 8 and was a two-time State All-Around gold medalist.  She is currently attending Kettle Run High School were she is a Pole Vaulter and Student Athletic Trainer.  She has an interest in Art as one of her hobbies.

Coach Tim:

Tim is BRAG's Head Optional Coach.  He trained as a gymnast for six years before competing in the Trampoline and Tumbling Program where he took 2nd place at Nationals in Level 7 Power Tumbling.  During high school, he instructed recreational gymnastics for two years.  Since 2010, he coached competitive gymnastics at two different clubs in Louisiana, eventually working his way up to a head coaching position at each.  He has coached his gymnasts to three Regional Competitions and two to collegiate scholarships.  He studied Business at the University of Alabama.  When not working at BRAG, he enjoys auto cross, horseback riding, hiking, and playing with his dog.

Coach Lauren:

Lauren has been working as a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor at BRAG since 2017.  Prior to working at BRAG she participated in club gymnastics for 12 years to include five years in the Junior Olympic Program competing up to Level 7 and two years in Xcel at the Diamond/Platinum levels.  Also, she was a member of the Battlefield High School Gymnastics Team for three years.  When not at school or working at BRAG, she enjoys playing with her Bulldogs and spending with family/friends.    

Coach Halsey:

Halsey has been a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor at BRAG since 2018.  Prior to coming to BRAG, she was a recreational instructor at two local clubs from 2016-2018.  Halsey was a competitive gymnast up to Junior Olympic Program Level 10.  While living in New Mexico, she was a Level 4 and 6 State Champion.  While living in VIrginia, she was a Level 9 Regional champion and placed 3rd All Around and on the Balance Beam at the Eastern Nationals.  She is a graduate of Brentsville High School and is currently attending Northern Virginia Community College where she is working on an A.A. in Occupational Therapy or Respiratory Therapy.  During her free time, she volunteers at the hospital.

Margaret:

Margaret has been BRAG's Office Manager since 2016.    She spent almost 10 years running her own business before coming to BRAG.  She has a BA in Communication from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.  Her daughter is training with BRAG's Competitive Tumble and Trampoline team.  When Margaret is not spending time with her two daughters, she enjoys playing tennis and golf.

Coach Mary:

Mary is a former optional level gymnast, power tumbler, and cheerleader who competed at the national level in power tumbling and cheerleading.  She is the daughter of two YMCA directors and has several years experience participating in numerous athletic programs.  She began coaching while in college and held her first program director position immediately after graduating from the University of Kentucky.  She is a USAG certified National Coach and former Junior Olympic Program Level 10 judge.  She has produced numerous state champions and collegiate gymnasts while coaching in California, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.  She is an avid fan of University of Kentucky basketball and the Kentucky Derby.  

Coach Tatum:

Tatum has been working as a Recreational Gymnastics and Tumbling Instructor at BRAG since 2018.  Prior to coming to BRAG, he worked as a Beginner Boys Gymnastics instructor at his family's club, Indiana Gymnastics Center.  A gymnast for 10 years, he competed up to Level 7 where he was a State Champion and Regional Qualifier.  He currently attends Battlefield High School.  He enjoys displaying his tumbling skills as both a gymnast and diver.

Coach Rachel:

Rachel has been working as a Recreational Gymnastics Instructor at BRAG since 2018.  Prior to coming to BRAG, she was a recreational coach and assistant Xcel coach at All Star Athletics in Pittsburgh, PA for five years.  As an athlete, Rachel trained at All Star Athletics and competed in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) championships.  She has a B.S. in Business and Healthcare Administration from West Virginia University.  She enjoys working out, hiking, and spending time with friends and family during her free time. 

Coach Mallorie:

Mallorie is BRAG's Recreational Program Director and Head Compulsory Team Coach.  She has been with BRAG since 2014.  A gymnast since the age of 5, she participated in gymnastics for 9 years and competed up to Optional Level 9 in Virginia.  She started coaching with the opening of BRAG, coaching everything from Parent and Tot to now leading BRAG's Compulsory Gymnastics teams.  She received her Health and Fitness Certification from NOVA.  When not working at BRAG, she enjoys spending time with her family.  

Coach Leigh Anne:

Leigh Anne has been BRAG's Cheer Program Director since 2017.  She is a former school and club competitive cheerleader with her club team placing at several UCA and NCA Regional competitions.  She is a graduate of Christopher Newport University where she was a member of the co-ed cheerleading squad.  After graduating from CNU, she began coaching recreational cheer and competitive cheerleading.  She went on to head a competitive cheerleading program working with Junior Level 2 and Senior Level 4 teams.  Her teams had numerous top 3 finishes and won the "National Championship" title at a JamFest competition. When not working at BRAG, Leigh Anne teaches special needs children in a local public school system.

Coach Quianna:

Quianna has been BRAG's Head Xcel Team Coach since 2017.  She started training in gymnastics at the age of 7 and competed up to Optional Level 8 in New York.  While in high school, she competed on her school's gymnastics team and also coached at her home gym, Elite Gymnastics.  She continued to coach gymnastics part-time at another gym while attending college and returned to coach full time at Elite Gymnastics after receiving her degree.  In 2012, she started a gymnastics program for a Boys and Girls Club and in 2013 she became the Director of the USAIGC program at Elite Gymnastics.  She is a graduate of the State University of New York at Old Westbury where she received a BA in Public Health.  She loves spending time with her daughter and niece, taking them to dance classes, swimming, girl scouts, and of course gymnastics.

Coach Michelle:

Michelle has been a Junior Olympic Program Coach with BRAG since 2018.  She is the daughter of a gymnastics coach and was an active gymnast from the age of three through high school.  She competed up to Level 8 with USAG and earned Second and First Team All State honors while competing with her high school in Connecticut.  Prior to coming to BRAG, she coached her high school team for five years and with Chelsea Piers in Connecticut as both a recreational instructor and JOP Coach.  She has a B.S. in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement from the University of New Haven, CT.  When not working at BRAG she enjoys a day at the beach!
